The Wind, One Brilliant Day

The wind, one brilliant day, called
to my soul with an odor of jasmine.

‘In return for the odor of my jasmine,
I’d like all the odor of your roses.’

‘I have no roses; all the flowers
in my garden are dead.’

‘Well then, I’ll take the withered petals
and the yellow leaves and the waters of the fountain.’

the wind left. And I wept. And I said to myself:
‘What have you done with the garden that was entrusted to you?’

— Antonio Machado

We have this conscious mind that’s making choices, setting priorities, that sort of thing. And we have an inner mind that is full of energy that can be used when we let it be used in a direction that takes care of us – that says, “You’re worth this time.” Then, in your mind that is a calming response, a self-affirming response. And then you get stronger. You get there by allowing yourself to dream about how it would feel to feel good about being you.

This is a long journey. This is a beginning. This is a lifelong journey that requires the determination to fight negative thought processes and negative things that have been sent to you – even in your own mind. Because you’re worth it.
